Dexter Gordon's 1965 Blue Note record Gettin' Around featuring Gordon on tenor, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Barry Harris on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. Recorded in the middle of the Blue Note renaissance, Gettin' Around "mid to up-tempo, hot, broad, careless, exuberant, and vigorously swinging." Bobby Hutcheson's vibes truly make the album. A bit less "cosmic" or "free" as many of the jazz records I post, this is a solid and pleasant listen. Enjoy!
